Sphere is a mini-series of drawings whose quest was to use the multiple properties of the circular shape to bring together in a singular entity elements specific to the biological sciences and those of the spiritual disciplines.

 

The biological dimension of these drawings is reflected above all in their visual aspect, that is to say, it can be observed by paying particular attention to micro-details as well as geometric and organic shapes. By analogy, my works are similar to the research that a scientist carries out by looking through the lens of his microscope to discover the structure and behavior of bacteria or microorganisms that he is exploring.

 

As for him, the spiritual aspect manifests itself more in its more intangible character. It is essentially made up of a gentle mixture which combines with an intuitive and meditative creative process reflections on what the sphere represents for me on a more abstract, even mystical level. 

 

In my eyes, the sphere evokes the core of creation by being the bearer of notions such as energy, time, cycles or any other symbol associated with the expression of life, the cosmos, knowledge and consciousness. In this, it refers to what is linked to the emergence, growth, transformation and flourishing of what belongs to the world of life, matter and spirit. Likewise, its omnipresence in the environment shows that it plays an undeniable and determining role everywhere in nature. 

 

Finally, it seemed natural to me to incorporate the mandala into my series in order to pay homage to the sacred character of the sphere, spirituality and all other forms of life. In my opinion, the mandala, more than any other symbol, illustrates deployment, eternal movement, unity and harmony. In addition, it represents for me an essential meditation tool.

 

The production of this series was an opportunity for me to discover new horizons. Thanks to her, I was able to explore them by carrying out new research. The objective of Sphère was also to offer a universe reflecting what is at the heart of my identity and my essence as an artist, that of Mutant Nature, through my passion for drawing. In this sense, we can say that it is the embryo of a vision that I wish to explore and share.
